Karl Slover: One of the Last Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz Dies at 93

Karl Slover was a Slovak-born American actor. Born Karl Kosiczky on September 21, 1918, in Prakfalva, Hungary (now Prakovce, Slovakia), he was sold into an act by his family at an early age.
He played a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz (1939), appearing as a trumpeter and in the Lollipop Guild. He was one of the last surviving members of the Munchkin cast.
Slover later worked as a performer and lived in the United States for decades. He died in Dublin, Georgia, on November 15, 2011, at age 93.
